Irish Standard IS 3218

IS 3218:2013 + A1:2019 is the Irish Standard for fire detection and fire alarm systems in buildings. It covers the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and testing of all commercial fire alarm systems. All RFC fire alarm installations comply with IS 3218.

Servicing Requirements Under IS 3218

• Weekly manual call point test — carried out by nominated person on premises
• 6-monthly inspection by a certified engineer
• Annual full service and compliance certification
• System log book maintained and updated after every test
• Compliance certificate available for inspection at all times

Penalties for Non-Compliance
